Some of you may have noticed that I have been making some color adjustments in my blog. It came to my attention that links (on some 'low-quality' monitors) were difficult to distinguish from plain-text. Hopefully my modifications have solved this problem for a few readers. Anyone can feel free to leave their suggestions in the comments section. Several persons have also requested that I return to using my LiveJournal WeBLOG. Since I maintain that my TypePad Blog is more stylish and easy to use, I have decided that, RATHER than going BACK to LJ, I will simply post at both LJ and TypePad so that my 'Friends' on LJ will know when I have made updates. Hopefully this will satisfy some extremely opinionated LJ people. I will NOT be posting my entries in their entirety on LJ, but rather... LINKS to my TypePad posting.
As promised, I'm going to tell you all about how I turned my Desktop into a TiVo. Ok, first I'm going to clarify that my Computer is not a TiVo, but DOES have hardware & software installed IN and ON it, to allow it to function similar to a TiVo. I purchased an ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro and a 350W PowerSuppy to compensate for the additional power demand. At All-In-Wonder not only improves my overall graphical performance, but allows me to pipe an analog TV-signal into my computer. In addition to being able to watch TV on my computer screen, I also have a software based programming guide which can allow me to record programs on a schedule, which I can update from the Internet -- similar to how a TiVo functions. The recordings are stored on my HardDrive, and I can burn them all off onto CD-R's for extended viewing. There are several other functions of the All-In-Wonder that I have yet to explore, but I will be sure to give you details as I explore additional functionalities. You can also expect some screen captures, since that is yet another ability of the All-In-Wonder TV Tuner.
Work is going well... and I defiantly like these people a lot more than the ones I worked with at CIGNA. That being said... I think I am going to get back to work... I'll try to post again later
The RIAA's Latest Victim
This is the reason that I need to score myself either a small digital camera, or a camera phone. I can no longer stand to miss choice shots like this one taken by a fellow blogger ... WITH... a camera phone.
For those of you who do not understand the humor in this consider reading my paper on the RIAA. Or if you prefer the short and sweet version, check out this SlashDot entry, and the various 'professional' articles it points to. Happy file-swapping.I have some things I need to attend to today... so I don't have time for a long post. Look for co-op related entries in the near future. The Eagles are also playing tomorrow... so we'll see what happens with THAT.
