I have taken a few of my more “newsworthy” blog posts, and revised them for submission to Drexel’s student run newspaper, The Triangle. The Triangle has always been a good source of news, information, and comedic brilliance, and I’ve always wished to become more involved with it. Unfortunately, during my freshman year, when I actually went to a Triangle meeting, I was given the brush off, which may have been a communications failure, but nevertheless made me a little timid about continuing my efforts.
A few weeks back I whipped up the courage to e-mail one of my articles to the Triangle, and found it published without hesitation. I also received a kind e-mail from the Ed-Op editor who thanked me for my article and provided me with additional information about Triangle standards and practices that would assist me with future submissions. In the weeks since I’ve produced 3 works for the paper (two that have been published, and one that was submitted today), and I plan to submit many more, so long as they are pleased with my work, and I don’t run out of material. I don’t know if you’d call my e-submissions direct involvement, but until I have the time to attend a meeting, I guess they will have to do.
Here are links to my existing articles on the Triangle website. Copies of the Triangle are available in print (free of charge) in bins located throughout Drexel’s campus.
