In an effort to suppress any bad re-election juju, the Bush administration has dug up some "lost" documents that apparently prove that the President served all of his time in the Air National Guard during the early 70's. It should be noted that admittance into the Air National Guard was seen as a means of avoiding deployment overseas, in Vietnam. One can only speculate that a father in Congress may have had 'something' to do with this strategic move...
:::hearing CCR's Fortunate Son in my head:::
The documents released are apparently bank records indicating that the president was paid for the time he spent in the service. Specifically, It includes payment records for the time during which he was reported missing from his post in Alabama. The problem is that these pay records do not prove that the President was where he was supposed to be, merely that he was paid by the government for his service, or lack thereof.
These pay records do not explain where Bush was when he was stripped of his flight status for failing to show up for a mandatory physical. It is also curious why several military personal under whom Bush was slated to serve reported that he never arrived for duty. There are also review records indicating that Bush could not be evaluated because he was not available for review. No servicemen have come forward who can claim to have served with the President during the time he "apparently" spent stationed in Alabama.
The alleged fact that President Bush was paid for his time in the Air National Guard does in no way prove anything regarding the means by which George W. Bush served and earned his honorable discharge which came 6 months after being placed on the in-active duty list.
This is the man who is sending our men and women overseas to defend the interests of big oil companies. There are many more questions that need to be answered, and a payroll record does NOTHING to answer them. Something tells me that this probably wasn't the 1st time George W. Bush stole and/or wasted American tax dollars, and it would CERTAINLY not be the last.
Some folks are born, made to wave the flag
Ooh they're red white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief"
Ooh they point the cannon at you Lord
It ain't me it ain't me I ain't no senator's son son.
It ain't me it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one no
Yeah!
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord don't they help themselves oh.
But when the taxman comes to the door
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes,
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no.
Some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
Ooh, they only answer More! more! more! yoh,
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, one.
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate son, no no no
it is honorable discharge... not honorary
